Standalone to HA conversion failing

Hi,

I am trying to convert a standalone UTM 9 instance (built from the BYOL AMI in the marketplace) to cold standby HA but the pre-check tests are consistently failing with the error:

The AMI and CloudFormation template required for your UTM system to convert to HA or Autoscaling have not been published in the AWS Marketplace. Please follow our UTM on AWS release notes to find out about our next release.

I am running version 9.505-4 and following the instructions in https://sophserv.sophos.com/repo_kb/125294/file/Converting%20Standalone%20UTMv4.pdf

Has anyone seen this issue before?

Thanks,

Tim

  • Hi, Tim, and welcome to the UTM Community!

My understanding is that the "conversion" is actually a replacement.  Since you're on 9.505, you'll likely need to wait for that to be supported, but I would expect that to be very soon.  Your reseller should be able to get the answer to that question from Sophos.

    Cheers - Bob

  • Thanks Bob.  Support confirmed this to be the case:

The solution is either to wait until we’ve released the UTM 9.505 HA and Auto scaling releases and try again, or build a new HA cluster (using these instructions: https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/122202).
