NFA home Rev3 UTM 9.5 Unable to re-image / pass reset !!

Hello

(windows 7)

Lost password so had to do a reset . Connected with a Usb-Serial adapter..

Connected, press ''esc'' and then at the GRUB menu it freezes every time on multable programs (hyperterminal, Putty) meaning the UTM basicly is stuck at boot.

Contacted support again and luckly:

Solution: re-image (iso on cd in usb drive)

All setup. Once connected i see in terminal that it confirms the iso and asks me for permission.

ISOLINUX 3.82 3.82 ETCD

Once accepted: weird symbols , same as when the baut rate was off, just appears for some time and then nothing happens UTM basicly stuck again.

I used the sofware 9.5 iso as the hardware iso was not the correct one needed for my NFA home as was told to me < correct?

When trying to reset passwords there is no error message as you see the blue menu with the first option highlighted and nothing can be done once at the GRUB menu.

Re-image: Accept the re-image process. Once started getting symbols.

Why is the freeze at the grub menu happening?

Why can't I re-image?

Is there a link between the two problems?

What are the possible solutions so i can use the utm again?

Thanks in advance

  • Hi and welcome to the UTM Community!

Yes, the software ISO is the correct one.  The first thing I would try is to burn a new DVD at 4x or less.  Did that install work?
