Here is my question on utm 9.4 x64 bit sophos firewall.

I cant reconnect when my isp drops its connection.

my internet interface is eth0

I need a sh script to force utm 9.4 to auto reconnect to my isp

or how to get utm to automaticly reconnect to isp from the webmin interface.

Thanks

Shawn

  • UTM should reconnect a connection as soon as possible.

possibe UTM don#t see the connection as "disconnected".

What is the interface status (from dashboard) when connection is dropped?

what type of ISP connection do you use?

try enabling "uplink monitoring", so UTM recognize link down more fast...possible

  • no i had to restart the firewall several times to get it to reconnect to comcast

    and unplug the modem

    sb6190

    eth0
    WAN
    Ethernet Up Up

    when it is working

but when i am having issues

    eth0
    WAN
    Ethernet Down Error

    and i have to disable

    Uplink monitoring

    and then reenable it

then i have to disable eth0

in the interface menu then renable eth0 then i have to renew dhcp lease.

but it takes forever to get an ip address from comcast

    please help

    i did #7.7

    Try #7.7 in Rulz

but that did not fix it fast enough

    Thanks
