Block Skype and allow some users

Hi, 

You can allow some users by giving them access (username/password) to the UTM's SOCKS5 proxy, and specify the UTM proxy in Skype's config.

I'll let someone else answer re the best way to block it for everyone else.

Hi taihoang,

If your users have static computer IP addresses you can achieve that with application control rules. Look at my example for Facebook in attached screenshot.

- I configured exactly the application control rules as your attached screenshot: 
     + created 4 rules (2 for facebook, 2 for Skype);
     + created Network group
     + added Host to Network Group by Computer IP Address
=> Skype & Facebook still not able to access.

- In case Socks is enabled, the configuration describe as below:
    + Allow Networks (10.9.1.0/24)
    + Enable user Authentication
    + on Client PC, configure Skype proxy with Socks and authentication user
=> skype still not work. 

Please advise if I configured something wrong here.

can you instruct how to test it with Policy Test because this tool is only test for domain or URL?
I don't know how to test skype...
