Has anyone got SQL mirroring to work with Sophos? (using auto failover and putting in two servers in the config)

So, I'm a DBA....I set up mirroring for the databases with automatic failover, - working fine, no big deal.

Problem is, when we change the config for Sophos, the Sophos service will not start.  It is in the format like below (which is exactly what the directions tell you to do)... if we remove the mirrored instance from the config, it works.    What gives?

<LocalConfig><ConfigDataVersion>4</ConfigDataVersion><Capabilities>23</Capabilities><ConfigDBSettings><ServerName>XX-SQL2012;YY-SQL2012</ServerName><DatabaseName>SavexCnfg</DatabaseName><AuthType>0</AuthType><UserName></UserName><Password></Password><ConnectionTimeOut>30</ConnectionTimeOut><CommandTimeOut>60</CommandTimeOut></ConfigDBSettings><QuarDBSettings><ServerName>XX-SQL2012;YY-SQL2012</ServerName><DatabaseName>SavexQuar</DatabaseName><AuthType>0</AuthType><UserName></UserName><Password></Password><ConnectionTimeOut>30</ConnectionTimeOut><CommandTimeOut>60</CommandTimeOut></QuarDBSettings><ReportingDBSettings><ServerName>XX-SQL2012;YY-SQL2012</ServerName><DatabaseName>SavexRprt</DatabaseName><AuthType>0</AuthType><UserName></UserName><Password></Password><ConnectionTimeOut>30</ConnectionTimeOut><CommandTimeOut>60</CommandTimeOut></ReportingDBSettings><DirectoryDBSettings><ServerName>XX-SQL2012;YY-SQL2012</ServerName><DatabaseName>SavexDir</DatabaseName><AuthType>0</AuthType><UserName></UserName><Password></Password><ConnectionTimeOut>30

Tech support from them was no help.

  • OK, so does anyone use mirroring and just manually fail over by changing all those configs then to the mirrored instance?

This seems like it should be an easy question, requiring simple input from their support - but they couldn't answer on the phone, nor will they respond to us in the past couple of weeks.
