Sophos Update Server

So I thought I would be cool and create a Windows Server called SOPHOS.

So I installed all the users, etc.  And it updated fine.

But just for a day - as when you choose SOPHOS for the update and the login credentials - its not going out to the web - its hitting hitself trying to get the update.

So how in the world do I fix this.

is there another update that I can use that isn't called SOPHOS?  Or do I need to rename the server - reinstall the software - and all users?

  • Hello Keith,

it's not going out to the web - it's hitting itself trying to get the update
what makes you think so? You installed SEC (which also installs SUM), it worked and then in the Wizard you selected Sophos as the update location entering your license details - correct? it updated fine - i.e. it populated the share with the Recommended subscription? How did you notice and determine that it's hitting itself? Could you post a screenshot or a snippet of a log or whatever is suitable for depicting the malfunction?
