Windows 10 Enterprise Console/Endpoint Protection

Hi,

Currently running Enterprise Console 5.2.1 R2. Have just updated my computer to Windows 10 to do testing on it. Sophos on my computer was all screwed up, had to manually uninstall it. I couldn't even see the Sophos logo in my toolbar menu, so i couldn't disable tamper protection. I disabled the service and uninstalled it.

Next problem is that the Enterprise Console isn't letting me "protect" my computer. It comes up with Error: '80070002 The installation could not be started: The system cannot find the file specified.'

Haven't had a problem with this on Windows 7, so to confirm, it's working fine on Windows 7, but not working fine when protecting Windows 10. I checked the solution for this error, and it's just saying to check setup.exe path. It works fine, and there's no issue with the path. The enterprise console is running on Windows Server 2008 R2.

  • Try this;
    Disable Windows Firewall,
    Open up Sophos Firewall to All Traffic
    Disable Tamper Proof Protection

    Go to Enterprise Console
    Right Mouse Click Computer & Select "Protect Computer"
    Then Select "Update"
    Then (if working) Select "Comply with All Policies"
    This Should turn back on the Tamper Proof protection and Reset the Firewall
    Check that this in fact happened and the errors should be gone.
    Reset Errors on your computer listing in Enterprise Console

    Enable Windows Firewall if you use it too.
