Upgrading Sophos Enterprise Console version 5.2.2 to the current stable version ?

Hi All,

I've got the old Windows Server 2008 R2 VM running Sophos Enterprise Console version 5.2.2 in my AD domain that is used by 1000+ endpoints (Servers & Workstations).

So how can I upgrade it to the latest edition without losing all of the configured policy and no disruptions caused on the workstations ?

Note: The workstations and the servers are running Sophos Endpoint Security and Control v10.7

Thanks in advance,

S.E

  • Hi Chris,

So if I deploy new Windows Server 2012 R2 and migrate the Sophos Enterprise Console to the latest edition, would that be possible or it is better off delete the VM and then deploy the VM with the same name, & IP address?

  • Hello S.E,

    and migrate
the devil is in the details. Same name (same IP isn't a requirement) saves the "redirection" of he endpoints.
It'd be both your first upgrade and first migration? As SEC 5.5.0 is supported on 2008 R2 I'd suggest (but this is my personal opinion only) that you do the upgrade first. Before planning the server to server migration (to a new VM) you should perhaps fish around here, there's a number of "migration" threads and you'll get a better idea of the task.
