SEC 5.5 Software delivery failed.

I sent an email to Sophos Support on the 17th but have not received a reply. I also applied for SophosServ but have not been contacted.
 
I have discovered that the Sophos Update Manager has not downloaded updates since March 15th. The message displayed in the console is:
 
Software delivery failed.
 
I have tried stopping the following Sophos services: Message Router, Agent, Update Manager and Management Service and then restarting them and forcing an update but this did not work. Using Logviewer.exe the following errors are typically reported:

I have checked online and can see that renaming the Warehouse folder often resolves this issue. However, as this is a newer version of SEC than was available at the time the solutions were published, I thought it best to check with you about doing this, or if you require any further information. For example, some suggestions were for the folder to be renamed, others just for the folder to be emptied, others for the CID and Warehouse folders to be renamed or emptied.
 
If anyone can offer some clarity I would be very grateful.

    it's still safe to rename/empty the Warehouse (make sure no download is in progress).

    Thank you for your help, the problem is now fixed. I did the following:

    Stopped the Message Router, Agent, Update Manager and Management Service services in that order.
    Emptied the Warehouse folder located at C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Update Manager\Update Manager\Warehouse.
    Started the same services in the same order.
    Forced SUM to 'Update now'.

    After a short time the error message disappeared from the console and the Warehouse folder was populated with files bearing today's date.
