Running a report for a specific OU

 Hi,

Still trying to get my head around the reporting stuff sorry...

I would like to run a data or device control report for a specific OU is this possible? I've figured out how to pull data down via excel but this just dumps the whole estate into the spreadsheet?

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Tom

  • Hello Tom,

what is report in this context? pull data down via excel sounds like you are accessing the database and not running a report but I might be wrong.

  • A bit of a hack....

But in SMC under groups browse to the OU want, when you click on it the view will change to only Computers in that OU, change the view drop down to filter you want.

Then press CTRL+A to select all PC's in that view, then CTRL+C to copy, then open excel and click CTRL+V and it will past all the information from that view.

  • Hi Christian,

I need to extract device control data from a specific OU it must contain the device type, the username and the group path, any Ideas how i can extract this information?

    Thank You

  • Hello Tom,

you didn't say how you pull data down via excel. Anyway I have no idea how to get the group path without some programming (but then the path could be used to select the interesting OU). As you say the whole estate - you could define a subestate containing the desired groups/OUs, any reporting and the event viewer should then only consider computers in this subestate.

  • creating a sub estate sounds like a good idea! I'll give that a go.

    Cheers Christian.
