SUM 1.6.1 requirements

Hello,

 

Just planning to deploy a new Sophos SEC and additional SUM. What are the hardware / resource requirements for the SUM as I need to build a new vm to spec.

    SUM itself is a pretty lightweight service.  I assume that the SUM on this computer will be maintaining a local distribution share for the clients to update from?

    Will the clients be updating from this server using UNC or HTTP updating?

    Does the server need to run a web server, e.g. Apache, IIS, etc..

    How many clients will be updating from this location?

    The requirements really come down to the ability to serve files to clients that update from it.
