Upgrade to SEC 5.4.1 - RMS issues

We plan to upgrade our SEC from 5.4.0 to 5.4.1, but when running the installer the prequisites check throws an error that the RMS version of some clients is not support.

So my question is, what is the minimum RMS version (Windows, Linux, Mac) for the setup to complete?

    I've allready seen this articel. My problem is, for Linux and VShield i use the Update-Channel Recommended.

    At with this our current versions are:

     

    Linux 9.12.2

    vShield 2.1.4.39

     

    Am i right, that this is the reason for the error?

    yup, as far as I understand this article. I've not yet considered upgrading (Linux 9.12.3 is still Preview) but reading between the lines it looks like the check considers managed computers only. Therefore it should be possible to by deleting the "offending" computers (hoping the don't call in again before you past this step). Once they have upgraded they will be able to connect and appear where you have deleted them. I do not recommend this as you neither can manage the endpoints in the meantime nor get any alerts, events, or errors reported.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    Then i will wait for the upgrade of the endpoints or a fix from Sophos.

    Because i think the next recommended upgrade for Linux will bin january 2017...

    Hello Gorek,

    you won't get a fix - if you upgrade to SEC 5.4.1 it will enforce TLS 1.2 (not just for the fun of it). Other than security the only significant change is IMO the support for SQL 2016 - unlikely you can't wait for it. Providing a fix would counteract the intended security improvements. Just my 2 cents though.
