windows enterprise console to manage linux clients

can i use my current enterprise console on a windows server to manage sophos clients that runs on linux?

i have some servers currently installed with the free linux edition sophos but would like them to be managed by the enterprise console

Hello yeowkm,

you need to subscribe to a linux package (if you haven't already done so) on your management server and install on the Linux endpoints by running install.sh from the CID. Might be a good idea to create a preconfigured package with mkinstpkg.sh. Please see also Installing an Enterprise Console managed endpoint ....

does it work on CentOS?

what is the username and password to be used?

i keep getting error when trying to execute the mount command

mount -t cifs //SERVER/SophosUpdate /mnt/sophosupdate -o username=<user>,password=<pass>

Hello yeowkm,

as you are accessing the share which is also used for updating it's the updating credentials (user SophosUpdateMgr or whatever you have configured) - same as in the policies.
