SAV 9 under ubuntu and the RMS console : installation ok but computer considered offline.

Is there any problem to send data collect about the computer (on which is installed Sophos Anvitirus 9.11.0.4.5) to the RMS central console through the sav-rms service ?

Because, the RMS central console is under windows but a number our computers are under linux ubuntu and this central console see the compter on which is installed sophos AV but as OFFLINE.... However, the antivirus works fine...


I noticed the /etc/init.d/sav-rms service start and stop a fiew second later, is it a normal behavior ?

    I don't think so. Sounds like a communication problem. With OFFLINE you mean there's a red x on the icon? All your ubuntu endpoints appear as disconnected? If you select the Computer details tab in the console, are the values in the Last message time column more or less the same?
    Please check the sav-rms.log and rmsboot.log in /opt/sophos-av/log/ (and perhaps sophosmgmtd.log in /opt/sophos-av/log/sophosav/).

  • It's ok the problem has been solved. Actually, I had to update the antivirus bases to retrieve files and policies. This way, the computer is seen ONLINE on the Entreprise Console.
