Manage sophos endpoint upgrade

how can I managed the sophos endpoint upgrade from 10.3 to 10.6.3?

i have 330 clients.

how do I update 30 at a time instead of one shot all 330?

  • Hello yeowkm,

first of all you'd need to make sure that your endpoints stay at 10.3 by selecting the Previous Recommended package in whatever Software Subscription you use (probably the Recommended package -right now Previous Recommended delivers the same version). Then in the Update Managers view you have to add a Software Subscription selecting the Preview package. Edit the SUM configuration and select the new subscription. In the Endpoints view create a new Updating policy and select the added subscription, add at least one group (or create a copy of your existing structure) for those endpoints you want to upgrade, assign the new policy. Move the endpoints to the new group(s).
After 10.6 has been rolled out in the Recommended package move the endpoints back to their original if you haven't built a new structure. Change the Recommended software subscription back to use the Recommended package. If you've built a new structure assign the standard updating policy. Clean up (or keep for the next upgrade as appropriate).

Note: You can safely rename a subscription, policy or group. The changes will correctly be applied to the related objects.

May I ask why you want to stagger the upgrade?
