Obsolete Central Installation Directories (CIDs)

Hi all,

I am carrying out a bit of housekeeping on our Sophos Enterprise Console instance and have come across a few Central Installation Directories that are no longer in use. They are located in C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Update Manager\Update Manager\ (using the share name SophosUpdate).

Is there a method in which I can safely delete these directories and not mess up Enterprise Console (Version 5.3.1)?

I have checked the Bootstrap locations to ensure that none of them are being used.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Best regards,

John P

  • Hello John,

you can safely (shift+)delete them - the entire Snnn tree if an entire Software Subscription has been deleted, the product folder (SAVSCFXP, ESCOSX, ...) if a product has been unselected within a subscription (even if you inadvertently nab a wrong one, i.e. one in use, SUM should recreate it - though likely not without complaints).
