scan after boot

20 years ago the AV I used allowed it to be configured to start at boot+5 minutes if its scheduled start time was missed due to being powered off.

Is there a config option in SEC that allows this?   Or do I need to deploy a windows task to do this?

  • There is nothing in the product to do this currently.

    You could investigate:

    1. Modifying the existing scheduled task created by policy.
    There are a number of advanced options to explore.
    I don't believe modifying some of the advanced options will cause a differs from policy.

    2. As you say create a new scheduled task to run a scan.
    The default Scan now job GUID is as follows:

    64-bit:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus\BackgroundScanClient.exe" {F86EBCD5-687E-40B1-800D-021062361F6C}

    32-bit:
    "C:\Program Files\Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus\BackgroundScanClient.exe" {F86EBCD5-687E-40B1-800D-021062361F6C}
