SEC migration document lists "Neither the old server or new server are a domain controller" under assumptions... so... what if the old server IS a DC?

title says it all

  • Hello Alan K,

IIRC it's mainly security (i.e. no local accounts/groups on a DC) which makes a difference.
Hmmm ... never had to do it ... and anyway I've never followed the instructions and procedures to the letter. Basically 'twas export/import of the CertAuthStore, install (with appropriate accounts), backup/restore of the database(s), never bothered with the PrivateStore - amended Updating polices (using mostly non-default locations) and accounts. YMMV though.
