Sophos Enterprise Console Web Policy exception wildcard?

Good morning

On Sophos Enterprise Console 5.2.2, when adding websites that are to be blocked or not is there a wildcard function for both IP addresses and for domain names?

  • Hello ITR,

you're talking about the Web Control policy, aren't you? Did you try it - apparently not, as it's not possible to enter a wildcard character :smileyhappy:.

For IP addresses you have the option IP address with subnet mask. Domain names include the domain entered (e.g. rouge.site.com and all subdomains (equivalent to *.rougue.site.com). Please note that block takes precedence and there is no hierarchy for overlapping entries. Thus if you allow site.com and not.rogue.site.com and block rogue.site.com then rogue.site.com will get blocked.
