Missing Update Manager After Server Move

I was performing a server move to place the Enterprise console on a new server using these instructions:

https://www.sophos.com/en-us/medialibrary/PDFs/documentation/sec_53_mgeng.pdf

Long, but detailed instructions and everything was going well until I got to step 12 on Page 18 "Redirect endpoints to the new Update Manager". Specifically, my new update manager is not listed. I double checked all of the registry settings and performed a restart, but nothing appears to change. I only have my old server listed as the Update Manager. I can add a new subscription, but it won't let me change which update managers are available.

I see there is a method to install a new update manager, but after performing the install, my new Enterprise Console Server can't see it.

I searched the registry and my old server is still listed in the following key:

HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Sophos\Messaging System\Router

However I didn't want to change anything for fear of screwing up the rest of the install. has anybody seen something like this before? Any way that I can fix this installation?

  • After re-reading a few other threads, I went ahead and ran the Sophos Installer again. After the re-install, I was able to see my update manager and update my sources. I would add a Troubleshooting section to the documentation, but this seemed to have corrected the error I was seeing my case.
