Corrupted database ?

Hello,

We have discovered some mismatches on the databse viewed on the console. For example :

- some computers, added to the AD for some days are not visible on the console (AD view)

- other computers, not registered on the AD (ESX Host Servers) are visible on the console (they not have Sophos installed)

- some computers are mentionned to have not updates from 15 days... They have been registered yesterday.

We are not really confident about informations now.

Can we refresh the database used by the main server and several Update managers (which we re-deploy these days) ?

Thank a lot

  • Hello JacquesMONROY,

as for the error when you try to open the sync properties - I think you should open a case with Support. This is something which shouldn't happen - whether it's "just" some inconsistency or a serious corruption I can't say.

    As to the above points:
not visible - very likely related
computers [w/o Sophos] visible - they can't magically appear. Either they are imported somehow (import, discover, AD sync) or they do have Sophos installed and the RMS component has contacted the management server. Do they appear as unmanaged (greyed) or managed (and if the latter, which details are set)?
have not updated - the endpoint reports its (SAV) software details (version, number of IDEs). Whenever SEC downloads updates it records these attributes together with the timestamp. Comparing the information from the endpoint and the known packages it calculate the not since. How do you install/deploy Sophos? From the CID or with a custom installer?
Only the management server accesses the database.
