Linux Bootsrap Location Missing

Hello

So I'm trying to deploy SAV in linux servers using the enterprise console but I can't find it in Software Subscribtion, see the screenshot below:

Does that mean I don't have the subscription of SAV for Linux Servers?

Thanks

  • Hello Steve Sze,

    an air-gapped network configuration
your disconnected SUM's source is the Warehouse of a connected SUM. This Warehouse contains data for just the products and versions the connected SUM has subscribed to.
I'm not sure about the metadata though, i.e. the whole list of products and versions associated with your license, whether these are pruned before zhey are stored in the Warehouse or not. Please check the available products on the connected SUM (licensing has recently changed for the umpteenth time, the latest information is here and it's IMO not very comprehensible).

  • Hello Christian,

Thanks for the Reply, checking from my SUM that is connected to the internet, from Update Managers > Subscriptions > View/Edit Subscription, I can see that there's only two available platforms (Windows & Mac). Is it safe to say that our license (Endpoint Protection Standard) doesn't have the capability to support Linux?

    Thanks a lot!

  • Hello Steve Sze,

looks like. And Endpoint and Server for Linux not listed under Standalone Installers on the Downloads page would substantiate this. As said, the guide is less-than-comprehensive and I'm not sure it is correct - showing that SEC-managed Endpoint does not include Web Control and Peripheral Control for macOS.
Either your partner/reseller or - I think it's still them - customercare@sophos.com should be able to give you a definite answer. And thinking about it - Linux might not have been included in any of the legacy "simple" licenses.

  • Hello Christian,

May I ask on how can I update the CIDs/Warehouse of the air-gapped network? Is there services I need to stop before updating and delete some files from the Update Source?

    Thanks a lot

  • Hello Steve Sze,

as noted in the article under Install, 3. just make sure that no update is in progress. The Download status column shows Last checked and by default it checks every 10 minutes - if you need more time simply stop the Update Manager service.
    delete some files
Do not fiddle with the Warehouse or a CID's contents (whether in the original location or the copy) in any way - if you do the source won't pass the consistency checks.
