CLI parameter to Install silently without scanning PC

I would like to know if there are any parameters which would allow me to silently install Endpoint without doing a scan during installation.  This is time consuming when installing to a fresh image and all clients are set to scan nightly anyways.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hello Jake Erdman,

    doing a scan during installation
on Mac OS X an initial scan is started to complete the installation but as you say PC it think you're talking about Windows. I'm not aware that it does this. You are running setup.exe or?

  • Thank you for the reply.  To answer your questions...

    1.  All images we are using are Windows 10 Pro

    and

    2.  We are using the setup.exe.

    Thanks,

    Jake

  • Hello Jake,

I see. As said, the Windows version does not perform a scan after installation so it must be something else that is time consuming - could you give some details what you observe during or after installation? Please note that the installation of SAV and other components is done by AutoUpdate and not by setup.exe.

  • I see,  I must have been misinformed on the whole process as I was told it takes a while due to a scan...Since this is not the case, I will assume it is just the normal install as I am sure there are many steps the installer is taking.  We were just noticing this particular Install takes a while.  There have been no issues with the install itself and I was just tasked to see if there was a way to install "Without a scan."  I really appreciate your insight into the issue and will explain to my superior that this is just normal for the install and that no actual scan is being performed.

Thank you for all of your help.
