Unkown software exception occurs with Sophos Endpoint and Adobe reader

We are using Sophos Endpoit AV with Intercept X module for a month now. Some of our users are reporting problems with opening PDF documents ever since, like FrankBackes already reported with the use of Sophos Home Beta.

I have received this complain from a few users that they had the problem when opening a new PDF that they never opened before.

If the user experiences this problem when opening a PDF than he simply tries again and then it works.

The version of Adobe Reader is Version 2017.009.20044

The OS is in every case windows 7 professional Dutch systems.

  • I've the same problem on 10 machine with win 7 SP1 x64 with

    Sophos Endpoint Core Agent: 11.5.6

    Sophos Endpoint Advanced: 11.5.6

    Sophos Intercept X 3.6.5

The adobe Reader version is 2017.012.20098

I've temporarily resolved disable in adobe reader preferences - Security (Advanced)  the  Enable protected Mode at Startup and and Enable advanced protection.

In this way i'vent any error when random open pdf file but i don't think it's the solution because one pdf protection is disable.

    Any idea?

    Thanks
