Active Directory deployment of Sophos Authentication Agent

 Hello,

I want to start using the Sophos Web Filter which requires deploying Sophos Authentication Agent. I noticed there is an msi package, but couldn't find any info about the option to install silently. I don't want to use group policy, since some laptops are working only from remote locations, so the policies wouldn't be applied to them. We have PDQ Deploy which I could use, but I have failed to figure out the option to install in a silent mode. Users don't have admin privileges, so I cannot use the .exe file.

Or is there another way to deploy the SAA except forcing the users to download it from the user portal?

  • Hello Luk. I'm not sure as I am new to Sophos and for a novice, the endpoint forums seem like the right ones for discussing endpoint deployment. If you know of a better forum, feel free to move this question and also my other one as they are probably very close.

    Best Regards

  • Hello Václav,

the endpoint forums are probably a little bit misleading. These two are mainly intended for the "classic" on-premise SESC (Sophos Endpoint Security and Control), its components, and topics related to the basic AV. They are not the place place for everything (on) endpoint(s), this would perhaps be even more confusing.
The cloud managed product (Central) has its own group as have the gateway solutions (UTM, XG, WA/WSG) and these should be used especially for product-specific components like the SAA. Unfortunately moderators can move only to groups that the OP (original poster) has already joined. Thus please join the appropriate group and either send a PM to the moderator of your choice or follow up here.
