Sophos Update account

Hello everyone,

I recently installed a Sophos Endpoint Console. Everything was great until i deployed the sophos client on a client computer.

When i run sophos update on the client, my browser block all connexions with the account "SophosUpdateMGR".

Does anyone knows how to configure sophos update account to not be used by windows after an update ?

(To be able to use again my browser with my domain account, i have to lock and logged-in again)

Sophos endpoint console : 5.4.1

Client : Windows 7

Thank you for your help.

  • Hi Jak,

Thank you for your help, I forgot to tell some informations.

I'm on a domain and all users have internet access rights. The account sophosUpdateMGR doesn't have those rights.

So when i launch an update on a computer, windows uses sophosUpdateMGR to install the updates but keep using it whith other programs like my browser.

This is why my internet requests are blocked.

Do you know how to correct this issues without giving internet acces rights to SophosUpdateMGR ?

    Thank you,

    Joris

  • Hello Joris,

the important piece of information Jak's asked about is Some sort of web protection/proxy client?
There are several threads with a similar issue (IIRC at least one mentioning a Barracuda) but unfortunately none with a reported solution/workaround.

  • Hi everyone,

I found my problem, it was my FSSO which was blocking this account. So I just disabled FSSO checking for this account and it's works fine now.

    Thank you for your help,

    Joris,
