Re-Installation - yet more!

Hello again everyone!


I have still not been able to solve my problem in that of downloading Sophos as my AV programmne! See my previous thread entitled "Re-Installation"

I shall repeat the details I previously gave -

I had Sophos Installed and working.on W.7 Home Premium.

I then downloaded and installed the Free version of Windows 10 onto my Lenovo G585 laptop.

To do this, I had to remove all the AV programmes that I had.

I removed Sophos.

When I had installed W.10 I tried to re-install Soophos and had many problems.

When given the choice of becoming a member or signing in, I chose to sign in to my account that I had previously registered and once I had signed in, there was nowhere that I could find to download Sophos.

All I want to do is to re-install Sophos.

Can anyone assist?

    Hi Colin,

    What version of Sophos are you trying to obtain?

    Are you using Sophos Home?  I.e. https://home.sophos.com.  This is the free cloud managed product.

    Or are you a going to Sophos.com -> "Support" -> "Download"? At which point you're asked to log in with your SophosID in order to be offered the downloads you are entitled to as a paying customer.  This would be the route to get the unmanaged standalone installer or the on-premise management software.

    The other option is you're using Sophos Central (https://cloud.sophos.com), which is the paid for cloud managed product similar to Sophos Home but with more functionality.  The installers for that product are found once you've logged in to Sophos Central rather than via Sophos.com.

    Hello Jak,

    Thanks for your reply.

    I do not remember what version that I had, but it was free, so I am presuming that it was the "Home" version. I would be very graeteful to find out how I can get it back!  I only had it for a short time but it was most satisfactory and appeared to function more effectively than my previous AV programme of AVG Free.

    The  problem seems to be that I cannot find a way to download it again! I get to the Sophos page, at the link that you provide https://home.sophos.com. and have the choice of creating an account - which I have already done, hence my ability to login to this forum - or logging in which brings me to a page where I am not able to find any information to download the programe again, presumeably because it is supposed that to get this far I must already have Sophos!

     

    It would appear to me that Sophos does not provide a way to re-download if you have had to remove the original!

    OK, if it is home, I would suggest:

    Go to:

    https://home.sophos.com

    On the far right there is a "Login Button".  After the animation, at the login page there is a "Forgot password?" link.

    I would suggest clicking that and enter the email address you registered with.

    You should get an email from home-no-reply@home.sophos.com in a few minutes.

    This will do two things:
    1. Confirm the email address you are entering is correct.  I.e. you receive the email.

    2. Give you a chance to set the password again after clicking the link in the email.

    Once set.  You should be able to login to Sophos Home.

    Once logged in, on the left there is a "Add device" link, from where you can click install.  If you're using the console on the same computer you wish to install on.  Or you can copy the link to email someone or yourself to use on a different computer.
