WeTransfer and Sophos Cloud not working

I'm currently researching some complaints from users on a Windows 2012 R2 Remote Desktop Server with Sophos Cloud Server Standard deployed.
They are unable to upload files to WeTransfer while the policy are at default settings. Uploads hang at 0% or go to 100% immediately and then back to 0%.

I've uploaded 2 screenshots, 1 of the setting on the local antivirus software which makes it work.
Disabling "Block access to malicious website's" and "Download scanning" does the trick.

The other one is from the Sophos Cloud general exclusions for variations on the WeTransfer domains.

What am I missing? I've read some 4 year old feature requests and complaints about WeTransfer not being a recognised application.
Is that still an issue to others as well?

So my question is, how do I provide users with the possibility to use WeTransfer without having to disable the complete Web Control in the Cloud policies or having to manually disable the mentioned options in the local software for each machine.

  • Hello TijsKeijsers,

This is currently a known issue and I have several cases with our global team who are trying to identify the root cause of this. It would be helpful if you could raise a case with us so that we can obtain additional logging. The more we have the more clear the root cause will become.

Feel free to PM me the case reference once you have it so that I can inform the case owner of my knowledge on this one.

You can raise a new case here - secure2.sophos.com/.../contact-support.aspx
