Linux OS,PrimaryUpdateSourcePath is locked

On a Linux OS, trying to update the primary configuration from the /opt/sophos-av/bin/savsetup command. I will get a lock message; "PrimaryUpdateSourcePath: This parameter cannot be modified because it has been locked by the CID-based configuration"
How do I unlock the PrimaryUpdateSourcePath?

  • Hello Raymond Chin,

I will get a lock message
when the (Sophos configuration on this) computer is centrally managed either by SEC or using the Extra Files method. If the latter it can AFAIK be centrally unlocked.  Why do you want to change the PrimaryUpdateSourcePath?

  • Christian,

The old server failed.  The new server has a new host name with the Sophos console install.

  • Hello Raymond,

I see. As the Linux computer was apparently managed the question is whether it has been installed with the same identity (whatever this is) or not - this is something that whoever reinstalled the console should know.
From "your" side it's better (and anyway necessary in case of a new identity) to uninstall and reinstall from the new location (as this will correctly take care of the management component).
