Disable Scan On Battery

Is there a way to disable automatic full system scans when a computer is on battery? It seems that whenever I'm not plugged in the process SavService*32.exe starts using 25% of the CPU and performing lots of I/O reads. When this happens the estimated battery remaining drops to 1.5 hours for a full charge. Killing the SavService process doesn't stop it.

Thanks in advance!

  • I would also like to determine a solution here, as I have select users whose systems experience significant power consumption from SAV scanning when on battery, & Sophos doesn't appear to have an intuitive or identifiable solution for this request.
