Application Control and GWX issues/questions

Hello,

We are experiencing an issue where our Application Control log is being overrun with a particular "program" being blocked, GWX. To my knowledge, GWX stands for Get Windows 10(X). We block the upgrade to Windows 10 on most all of our systems due to compatibility concerns as well as industry certification with applications and Windows 10. This has not been an issue in the past until the last few weeks, where it seems Windows has taken it upon itself to try running this application on it's own.

The Application Control log shows the following:

Date/time User Computer Application name Application type
3/29/2016 10:37:57 AM *DOMAIN\name* *ComputerName* GWX Software updater

Is there any way to either: A) Block the GWX update within Windows altogether? Preferably through Group Policy and not through registry edits using a .bat file, or B) Remove the alerts through Sophos while still allowing Endpoint to block the application from running?

Any help here would be greatly appreciated
