Caveat: I am a non-geek civilian Mac user, so you need patience with me - I have a MBP late 2013 running Yosemite OSX 10.10.5. it replaced a MBP 2008 (snow leopard) that had been backed up via Time Machine to an external HD. WIth the new MBP, i divided my TM into 2 drives, new MBP and old MBP. the 2 disks show on my desktop, one of them, the new MBP highlighted
From yesterday's scan I found 1 threat: "Mal/Generic-L'... and several (19) corrupt files. I am a novice, so reading through the log didn't tell me much) From the date of this threat, it mus be in the old MBP backup, but I cant seem to access it in TM- when I open TM I am in the 'new' one (both show on my desktop as drives, the new one as the 'active' one. I have no idea how to search inside the old one (i watched the video about removing a threat frmo TM so I think I get how to do that once I get to the right date...)
