Problems after upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10

I've just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and the only way I can get onto the Internet now is to disable the Sophos Firewall by selecting "allow all traffic". Any help would be appreciated.

I'm running endpoint 10.3

    If the firewall is working as expected, I would expect their to be entries in the Firewall Log so you can see what is being blocked so you can create a rule and allow it.

    Were you using interactive mode in Windows 7 to configure the firewall or is this a SEC managed installation where the policy is defined/managed from there?

    Thanks for your reply and trying to help me out.
    When I was using Windows 7, as a starting point (or when the firewall was restored to default settings), everything was blocked by default. As applications such as a browser, were opened, I would get a pop up message from the firewall asking if I wanted to allow. Over a period of time, the firewall rules were built up based on what I opened on my machine and how I responded to these pop ups. Now I have moved to Windows 10, these pop ups do not occur and I'm unsure now as to how to create the firewall rules to allow my machine to function.

    Sadly there is no interactive mode in Windows 8+. If the policy was even "upgraded", I suspect many of the rules are no longer valid if they were checksums etc..

    You should be able to open the config and just add a few trusted apps, such as Chrome.exe, etc..
    Then see what's blocked next in Log viewer if anything is.

    You could create some very general rules such as allow all outgoing TCP just to check you;re on the right track but it's going to be a case of using the firewall log viewer any adding your own config.
