Enterprise console 5.2.1 R2 SQL Support

We are using 5.2.1 R2 with SQL 2005 database. The plan is to upgrade to SQL server to SQL 2012 R2.

I have found documentation that lists SQL 2012 as supported option for 5.2.1 R2 but other docs state that SQL 2012 SP2 is only supported by 5.3.1

Can anyone confirm whether 5.2.1 R2 will be fully supported when using a SQL 2012 SP2 database
