License implications (updates affected only ? no other function affected ?)

Hi All,

Apart from patterns not updating is there any other function affected ?

I have a customer who has 'Endpoint Security and Control for Windows' and 'Enterprise Console' and we are planning when license expiration occurs.

Does all endpoints still partake in client/server comms to EC and any new policy/rule/configuration still able to be created and pushed to clients ?

All engines continue to crunch, but just are unable to download new patterns ?

  • Sophos Update Manager (SUM) updates stops. Endpoints still check CIDs/Distribution points but find there is nothing new.

Any clients using Sophos as primary/secondary will fail but it only causes issues with updating.

So protection is left as is at the point updates stopped and you can still manage the computers with RMS.

I think there is a short grace period after the licence expires where updates still work.
