Can I scan a network location with Sophos?

How can I scan a network file share with Sophos endpoint installed on my laptop?  My laptop is connected to the network and I have the share mapped to a drive letter.

Thanks

Charles

  • Hello Charles,

either right-click the mapped drive in Explorer and select Scan with Sophos Anti-Virus (note that the settings from Configure Anti-Virus -> Right-click scanning apply) or use the GUI to set up a scan (the global On-demand extensions and exclusions apply). The available options depend on your user rights.

  • Christian - Thanks for the reply. When I do that I get the message "Sophos could not scan the selected item. Check if the drive is ready or if you have sufficient rights to access the selected item. I'm trying to scan a drive on our SAN and I'm a domain admin so it's not a drive issue or a network rights issue. Am I missing something in the actual Sophos configuration?
    Thanks
