Why Sophos AV allowed to be installed with other AV?

Hi,

Good day!

Why Sophos AV allowed to be installed with other AVs?

We already installed Sophos AV in our computer. Also, we are able install another AV (SMADAV or Malwarebytes) in the same unit.

For sure, two anti-virus will have a conflict.

Can Sophos restrict third-party AVs from being installed?

Thanks,

Darren

  • Hello Darren,

your post's title is a little bit misleading [:)].
Anyway - Application Control (type Security tool) will detect and block the mentioned products. Can't say whether this applies to all versions of their installers as well).
By default Sophos will not prevent installation of other (potentially conflicting) AV software (normally the product about to be installed either attempts to remove the competitor or refuses immediately).
