Hi, 
 I'm using the same credentials as on the sophos website (and here). My account has and active Endpoint Protection - Advanced 2 associated to it. 
 However, these credentials do not seem to be sufficient to retrieve updates 
 
 #/opt/sophos-av/bin/savupdate --debug 
 read_remote_metadata failed: result=5 error_details: Failed to authenticate log_entry: [E54187] Couldn't find DCI for user. URL was: dci.sophosupd.net/.../ Failed to download 'sdds:SOPHOS': invalid authentication. Please check PrimaryUpdateUsername and PrimaryUpdatePassword. read_remote_metadata failed: result=5 error_details: Failed to authenticate log_entry: [E54187] Couldn't find DCI for user.  Product version: 9.8.5 on ubuntu 64 bit.

Hello GirayDevlet, 
 same credentials won't ask you for their details on a public forum, but are you referring to the credentials from the license schedule ? I'm asking because on the sophos website (and here) suggests that you might use your Sophos ID instead.

Well that indeed solved the issue. Maybe a point for improvement would be to specify that "Username for Sophos update" is not equal to the Sophos ID but refers to the License credentials.
