Sophos Antivirus Blocking - Chat Application on Websites

Hi Sophos Support


Lots of customers have Sophos Antivirus and on some these Business websites, they use Chat Applications and especially - Freshchat which uses CSS and JS to ensure chat communications, popup messages, push notifications and many others, gets blocked by Sophos. 

We cannot expect each and every user to disable Sophos.

What can be done to ensure Sophos doesnt block Freshchat or such chat applications


Any suggestion would be helpful

  • I think you would need to create a Support Ticket and provide details on how the problem can be reproduced. Is there a demo account or a test site that can be used to show this issue? I suspect the most likely feature to be interacting is Web Protection, specifically download scanning.  If a small amount of data is being tricked to the client over HTTP then I assume it's being buffered up to the 2MB buffer limit.  Does data trickle over HTTP?
