Sophos for Mac 9.2.8 and 9.4.1 - makes a full download after install - why?

Question

I just made two new installers using both the 9.2.8 binaries and the 9.4.1 binaries. In both cases these join our Enterprise console properly and download policies. but, they also trigger a full download of the product again on the first update (150MB). In this case I am using the "update now" function from the Shield menu after the client gets updating policies. 
 This is painful over a VPN connection or a slow WAN link. 
 Here's my workflow: 
 - download the ESCOSX directory from our main server to a Mac (in this case running OS X 10.11.1) 
 - open the folder and add our "grouppath.plist" file to /Sophos Installer Components/rms 
 - run Sophos Installer 
 - run update now after the client gets policies

to create a pre-configured installer containing updating and/or On-Access scanning options we do have an article as shown below

Have you ever had a chance to go through it? 
 
Unfortunately for Mac packages we do not have the flexibility as we have for windows packages, whether to include the updates or not. so this is the only way you can make the custom package
