Patch parameter "-patch http://<MANAGEMENTSERVERADDRESS>"

Hello,

I am trying to install patch function, however confused about the parameter to specify:

-patch http://<MANAGEMENTSERVERADDRESS>

in the above whats the management server address? it is the enterprise console, which I don't believe as it says "Installs Sophos Patch agent and specifies the address of the Sophos management server. Only available with version 10+" and console has different version.

Maybe I am missing something, where some additional installation of server required?

Thanks,
Abhijeet

  • Hello Abhijeet,

    version 10+
refers to the version of the Endpoint software (currently 10.8.2) not SEC.

And yes, the management server is what you usually also call console. I know it's not totally clear, actually the Console is an extra component (that you can install on a remote computer) but it's normally always installed on the server.
Best to use the server's FQDN for the address.
