Random Endpoint Failures The wont Update or Reinstall or Uninstall

Reading thru the forum it appears that it is a common issue with Sophos anti-virus randomly failing.

Two days ago 10.8 was working just fine on a window10 PC and then it just stopped updating.  The every popular "Updating Failed".

Cant push a reinstall from the SEC.

Can't reinstall from the client.

And to add to this can't uninstall as the cache is missing uninstall files.

Normally the only option is to reimage the PC but what is I tell the VIP?  Sorry Sophos is broken again and we need to reimage your PC.

 

Does anyone know a trick or two to make sophos do a force reinstall?

    Hello Navar Holmes,

    the cache is missing uninstall files
     which component fails to uninstall, could you show the error from the MSI log - componentname Uninstall (or perhaps Install) in %windir%\Temp\?
