Is probably that Sophos endpoint is blocking the creation of files in a server?

Hi I'm a software developer.

The company where i work, installed Sophos Endpoint some months ago in all our servers and computers (Windows Server 2012 and 2008 R2 Standard).

In the server we have some windows services (that generate pdf files) and web services that generate files in the server, but i noticed that after we installed sophos, the pdf file generation web service started to fail, my problem is that the system process like 1000 pdf files every day but just like 1 or 2 files fail to be created. The same case is happening in another server where sophos was installed and we are copying hundred of files from another place every day.

Even I remember we have to restart the Print Spooler service in all the computers after installing Sophos because it was not allowing to create pdf files.

Do you have any report about it?

or do you think Sophos is blocking the file creation over the hard disk?

Any information that you have could be helpful.

Thanks

  • Hello Roberto Tellez,

in case of some incompatibility I'd expect the creation to fail generally.
Which components and features are installed and enabled? Won't rule out some obscure problem but normally any action by the scanner is accompanied by an alert (can be found in the local logs and is reported to the management console - BTW: Is this Central or the on-premise SESC?). What exactly is fail to be created - the service crashes, or does it report an error?

Sophos [...] was not allowing to create pdf files
what indicates that Sophos was not allowing? Any concrete evidence or just that it did not work after installing Sophos?
