Human Readable Sophos Logs (xml)

Within the documentation for SAV for Linux we have mentioned in section 11 some additional software you can install, one of which is an XML parser

Thanks for your help.  Unfortunately the download of TinyXML would not compile under LUBUNTU

64 bit 3.16.

There is also xmllint http://xmlsoft.org/xmllint.html - this is installed on Ubuntu as standard. 

We have not tested this, nor do we support any XML parsers so please bear this in mind when choosing a parsing tool, they are installed and used at your own risk.

I downloaded "sudo apt-get install libxml2-utils".  It appreas to run without

error except it has a problem the sophos savd.log

You should use the savlog program to view the SAV log, the XML-ish file is the internal format for the log, and can change. savlog decodes that into a human readable and translated format.

The files contain multiple XML fragments, rather than a valid XML document.

Because its "bin" folder was not in my path I have to run it as:

/opt/sophos-av/bin/savlog
