NetApp Scanning Logs

I've just implemented the NetApp scanning portion and can see that files are being scanned. However, is there a log on the Sophos server of which files were scanned and when?

  • I know this is almost a few months old but I figured I'd throw in my $.02.

Log location: \Program Files (x86)\Sophos\SAV for NetApp\savnalog.txt (adjustable)

    The best parts

    • The log has a fixed size (adjustable) and does not roll or archive.
    • New entries to the log are ignored once the log hits this max size (you read that right).
    • The log file is locked open by the scanning service even when full, and must be purged manually via a button in the console.
    • The log does not contain dates in the timestamps (you read that right as well).
    • Sometimes, if it is sunny outside, the scanner will believe the log file is full well before it reaches its max size (usually around 70%).
