Multiple computers getting netio.sys BSOD after 2022.2.1.9 update

We're having an outbreak of DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD's in driver NETIO.SYS. Netio.sys caused BSOD's are usually tied to network drivers but that doesn't make sense because this started happening all of a sudden on multiple computers. These are fully patched/updated Windows 10 Pro computers. The common thing we're seeing is Sophos was updated to version 2022.2.1.9 around 7/20/22 on all of them. Any insight from Sophos on if the blue screen of death crashes are being caused by the latest version of Sophos?

We just started having an influx of users reporting BSODs with this same error this Monday and today so far.

We have Dell computers. One user was experiencing it and after running all Dell Command Updates that seemed to resolve the issue for him.

Others are reporting the issue even after all Dell Command Updates ran.

Are they streaming anything in their browsers? Are you also using Cisco AnyConnect for VPN? is the browser listed as the process name in your dump files? I highly doubt updating the drivers in Dell Command Update has fixed the problem, it's really intermittent depending on what they're doing so I'm sure it will crash again.

Not sure about the streaming part. We have AnyConnect installed but we are having users in the office having the issue while not connected to the VPN. Have you tested if there is a difference in behavior if you switch from using a hardwired ethernet connection VS wifi?

Our users connect via Ethernet. Maybe simply having Cisco AnyConnect installed makes then vulnerable to the BSOD's even though they aren't connected?

If possible can you configure an endpoint to do a complete memory dump while reproducing the issue and provide that along with an SDU log? If you email - support@sophos.com this will open a support ticket and if you PM me the case number I can send the instructions to you as well.
