Downgrade from intercept X Advanced XDR to Intercept X Advanced

Hi,

This should be fairly simple, and I am 99% certain of the answer but want to be sure. We need to change a client's license (downgrade as the subject of this post states) and I have seen in the support article that any software not included in the license will automatically be removed. My question is will this have any impact on the end user? Will they need to reboot, etc, or is this a slient process? Assuming it is as upgrading the license is silent, but again just double checking. Thanks!

  • Hi Megan,

Thanks for reaching out to the Sophos Community Forum.

Removing the XDR component from your devices will not require a reboot. Generally, a reboot is only needed if there are driver changes or system changes that require a reboot to apply.

I was able to test this by using the command "SophosSetup.exe --products=antivirus" so that XDR is removed from a test device and no reboot was necessary.
