Sophos Endpoint (InterceptX) using almost all memory on server

Hello,

We have Sophos installed on a server and it's using a ton of memory.  Almost using all of RAM.  There is 24 GB of ram and it's using between 18-19.  How do I stop it using so much memory?  Also seems to be using a lot of CPU, but the memory is the bigger concern.

I recommend checking if there are updates that have been installed recently. If new drivers are waiting to be loaded, this may contribute to the symptoms you're seeing. This can be verified by checking the following registry key.
    - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Sophos\AutoUpdate\UpdateStatus\VolatileFlags\

If the system has been rebooted very recently and the device is fully up to date, you may want to open a case with Sophos Support so that this can be looked into, as this certainly is not normal.

  • If you restart the service (tamper off), how quickly does it grow again? If you use Process Explorer to watch the performance graph of the process do you see it go up in realtime or does it takes days?
