Remove System Extension off of Macs using Jamf Pro

Hi, I know this is a known issue but I'd thought I'd reach out anyway. I need to remove Sophos off of a lot of Mac computers, including the system extensions. (They seem to be causing performance issues). I cannot ask users to disable SIP and run a bunch of Terminal commands.

Is there a known Jamf solution for this?

  • Hi Joey,

Thanks for reaching out to the Sophos Community Forum.

You should not be required to remove the extensions manually, this will occur automatically when you uninstall Sophos Endpoint from the MacOS device. You can use the following steps to trigger the uninstall silently via Terminal.

    Managed by Sophos Central

    1. Open Terminal and run the command cd /Library/Application\ Support/Sophos/saas/Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/tools/.
    2. Run the command sudo ./InstallationDeployer --remove --tamper_password <pw> where <pw> is the tamper protection password which can be found in the device information on Sophos Central.
