Windows 11 Build 22581.100

Since I upgraded to this pre-release version Windows will crash to a green screen with Stopcode APC.INDEX.MISMATCH.  Starting in safe mode shows a string of DCOM error 1084.  The first time this happened I re-installed windows and began re-installing applications.  Sophos made in crash again and removing it has cured the problem.  I'm using an HP Omen 15.

  • Hi There,

Thank you for reaching us, With regards to this can you validate if your device has pre-installed AV came from HP. As we know HP has its own AV which is part of its OEM build upon purchase of the device. HP AV causes conflict with our endpoint product and may lead to issues. Validate if there is HP sure Sense and remove it.

  • Hi Glen,

There is no HP Antivirus software installed. The only virus protection I currently have is microsoft. Windows has upgraded since I posted this and is now Build 220408-1503. I tried to install Sophos Home again but it kept failing and then asking me to reboot. Eventually I used task manager to stop it.
Windows Application manager then seemed to think it was installed though it did not appear in the Dashboard and no options were running. I tried to uninstall but again, this failed.

I found about Sophos Zap by searching and followed the instructions to run it.

Then I re-installed Sophos and it now seems to be working again.

    Thanks,

    David
